Patricia is the Deputy CEO and Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (DSGBV) Support Coordinator at AkiDwA. She brings over ten years of experience in legal practice and human rights advocacy, with a professional background spanning both Uganda and Ireland. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Global Legal Studies (Honours) from Maynooth University, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre in Kampala, and has completed the Law Society of Ireland Entry Exams. She is also a certified sexual health promoter through the HSE’s Foundation Programme on Sexual Health Promotion.
Patricia has led a range of impactful initiatives, including the Uganda Law Society’s Legal Aid and Pro Bono programmes. In Ireland, she has coordinated key projects such as the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent (UNIDPADI) and AkiDwA’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) project. Her work consistently focuses on supporting vulnerable and marginalised communities, particularly in the areas of gender-based violence, sexual health, access to justice, and social inclusion.
Her expertise includes legal advocacy, project and programme management, stakeholder engagement with government and international bodies, and capacity building across multidisciplinary teams. She is deeply committed to promoting justice, equality, and dignity through community empowerment and rights-based approaches.
Outside of work, Patricia is known for her sweet tooth and love of all things dessert!
